WienerBlut is a new Austrian perfume brand interested in resurrecting popular bouquets that were worn on handkerchiefs in 19th century Vienna like the modern survivor Mouchoir de Monsieur by Guerlain. It takes its name which literally means “Viennese Blood” from a waltz by Johann Strauss II created in 1873 which was reportedly on every Viennese’s lips. It ultimately also became the title of an operette-anthology of Strauss’s work in 1899.

Flak towers were large, above-ground anti-aircraft gun blockhouses used by the Luftwaffe to defend against Allied air raids on certain cities during World War II. They also served as air-raid shelters for tens of thousands of people and to coordinate air defence.

The Journal of the History of Collections is dedicated to providing the clearest insight into all aspects of collecting activity. For centuries collecting has been the pursuit of princes and apothecaries, scholars and amateurs alike. Only recently, however, has the study of collections and their collectors become the subject of great multidisciplinary interest.

La Lobera. One of the unique eco-attractions near Playa del Socorro is a collapsed sea cave known as La Lobera, a sea lion haunt, one of its kind to be on this side of the coast, 3 miles from Highway 1, since sea lions mostly make their home on the small islands on the periphery of the Baja peninsula and Sea of Cortez.
